More Kid’s Menus, Regional Cuisines

AUSTIN, Texas—Consumers can expect to see more restaurants delivering value, convenience, healthier options and more regional cuisines, said Greg Schweizer, a culinary consultant and former executive director of menu development for Applebee's, who spoke at the Value Cuts Summit May 1.

As reported by Meatingplace, Schweizer highlighted the trend toward expanded and more nutritionally balanced children's menus. He also predicted that Mediterranean cuisine would expand beyond Italian and Greek into such cuisines as Israeli and Turkish and for growth in African cuisines.
