Restaurants Drop Prices to Drive Business

CHICAGO—According to Mintel Menu Insights, more restaurants—from QSRs through fine dining—are promoting “value” on the menu, promoting quality menu items for lower prices.

Examples of this phenomenon from QSR include the $5 items promoted by Subway, Quizno’s, Pizza Hut and Boston Market, as well as the “Right Portion, Right Price” reduced-size entrées from T.G.I. Friday’s.
