UC Kills Culinology® Program

03/10/2010

CINCINNATI—The University of Cincinnati has discontinued its Culinology® degree program. The future of the school’s Culinology program was put into jeopardy when it merged the College of Applied Science into the College of Engineering to create a platform to expand science and engineering programs.

About 48 students are currently enrolled in the Culinology program, well below the university’s minimum of 250 for a program to remain valid.

Current Culinology program students will be permitted to acquire their degree. The university will cease admittance of students into the program as of fall 2010. Any students currently completing their two-year associates degree in culinary arts or a related discipline at Cincinnati State who had intended on continuing at the University of Cincinnati in the Culinology program—a standard path of educational development for this program—will not be admitted.
